Materials:

• 2.5 – 3.0 oz worsted weight yarn (sample used Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn)
• 4mm crochet hook for cuff and 5mm crochet hook for rest of mitten
• Tapestry needle and stitch markers

Gauge:

3 stitches/4 rows  = 1 inch

Abbreviations:

Ch = chain

Sc = single crochet

Dc = double crochet

Fpdc = front post double crochet

Bpdc = back post double crochet

Thumb:

• With 5mm hook, create a magic ring. 8 sc into magic ring.
• 1 sc into each stitch around. Rep until thumb is approximately 2 ½ – 3 inches in length. The thumb can be tried on as it’s being made to ensure the correct length is made for the wearer.
• Fasten off. With tapestry needle weave in ends.

Fingertip and Hand:

• With 5mm hook, ch 6. (Will use 5mm hook throughout until cuff is reached.)
• Sc in 2^nd ch from hook and in each of the next 4 ch. 3 sc into last ch. Place marker in last stitch worked. Working in unused loops on opposite side of beginning chain, sc in next 4 loops. 3 sc in last loop and place marker in last stitch worked.
• 2 sc in stitch after marker. Sc in each sc across to 1 before marker. 2 sc in stitch before marker, sc in next stitch, move marker to last stitch worked, 2 sc in stitch after marker, sc in each stitch across to next 1 stitch before next marker, 2 sc in stitch before marker.
• Rep last round. Remove stitch markers.
• 1 sc in each stitch around until piece measure approximately 4 ½ – 5” in length. Try on mitten as it’s being made to ensure the correct length. Hand of mitten should stop when web of hand is reached.

Attach Thumb:

• Lay mitten with fingertip flat and place a stitch marker in stitch at edge on one side. Hold thumb next to mitten at stitch marker with tip of thumb aimed towards tip of mitten.
• Attach thumb by sc into stitches on both thumb and mitten. Begin with 2 stitches before marker and end with 2 stitches after marker. 5 stitches of thumb are now attached to mitten.
• Sc in next stitch of body of mitten until thumb is reached again. Sc into unworked stitches on other side of thumb then sc around in remaining unworked stitches.
• 1 sc in each stitch around as in last round until desired length of mitten is reached.

Cuff:

• Using 4mm hook, ch 2 in last stitch worked.
• Dc in each stitch around. Join with a slip stitch to top of ch 2.
• *Fpdc in next stitch, bpdc in next stitch.* Rep from * to * around.
• Rep last round 2 times.
• Fasten off. With tapestry needle weave in ends.

Materials

Yarn: 3 Skeins Ambrosia from Knit One Crochet Too (50g/137 yards each) or other sport weight yarn, approximately 400 yards.
Hook size: F

Scarf Instructions

Chain 38.

Set up row: 1 dc into 6th ch from hook, *skip 2 ch, 5 dc into next ch, skip 2 ch, 1 dc into next ch, ch 1, skip 1 ch, 1 dc into next ch. Repeat from * until end.

Row 1: Ch 4 (counts as 1 dc plus 1 ch), skip ch sp, 1 dc into dc, *skip 2 dc, 5 dc into next dc (the 3rd dc of the shell), skip 2 dc, 1 dc into dc, ch 1, skip ch sp, 1 dc into dc. Repeat from * until end putting last dc into 3rd of 4 ch.

Repeat this row until scarf measures about 30”, or half of desired length then fasten off.

Attach yarn at foundation chain and work 2nd half of the scarf the same as the first half. Fasten off.

Flower Instructions (make 4)

Rnd 1: CH 2, 5 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join with sl st to first sc.

Rnd 2: [ (ch 2, 3dc, ch 2, sl st) in the same sc, sl st to the next sc], 5 times, making 5 petals. Cut off.

Attach the four flowers to the four shells across the bottom of one end of the scarf.
Weave in ends & block.

Marigold Afghan

Skill: Intermediate
Size: About 54 inches by 66 inches
Materials: Worsted Weight Yarn: Cocoa (MC) – 32 oz, Tangerine – 8 oz, Gold – 8 oz, Amber – 8 oz, and Orange – 8 oz.
Crochet Hook:Size H-8 (5.00 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.
Gauge: Each Motif Measures 6 inches.

JOINING WITH SC
When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.

TO CHANGE COLORS

Work last stitch before color change to last step, with new color yo and pull new color through remaining loops on hook. Drop unused color to wrong side. Do not work over unused color.

FLOWER MOTIF
(Make 49 – 12 each in 3 colors and 13 in 1 color)
Rnd 1: (Right Side) Starting at center, with color, ch 4, join with sl st in first ch to form ring; * ch 2, 3 dc in ring, ch 2, sc in ring; rep from * 5 times. DO NOT JOIN. MARK BEG OF EACH ROUND.
Rnd 2: Working behind petals, * ch 3, sc in back of sc; rep from * around.
Rnd 3: * Ch 2, 5 dc in ch-3 lp, ch 2, sc in next sc; rep from * around.
Rnd 4: Working behind petals, * ch 5, sc in back of sc; rep from * around.
Rnd 5: * Ch 2, 7 dc in ch-5 lp, ch 2, sc in sc; rep from * around.

Rnds 3-9: Sc in each sc around, working 3 sc in corner sc.
At the end of Rnd 9, sl st to corner. Finish off and weave in ends.

Assembly
- Block Motifs.
- Sew motifs together, alternating between Flower Motif and Plain Motif, arranging colors as desired.
